1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CLO64 ("CLO64", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores and protects personal information when you create an account, browse the marketplace, list items for sale, or buy and sell through the platform. It applies to everyone who uses CLO64 in Tanzania and across East Africa.

2. Information we collect

Account information: your name or shop name, phone number, optional email address, password, and profile details such as gender that you choose to provide when registering or updating your profile.

Vendor listings: product photos and videos you upload, item titles, descriptions, prices, sizes, colours, stock counts and any source references (such as a social media link) you attach while preparing a listing. Source references are stored privately for vendor reference only and are never shown to buyers.

Order and transaction details: items purchased, order values, commission and settlement records, escrow and payment status, delivery addresses and delivery coordinates you confirm, and communication between buyers, vendors and dispatch riders about an order.

Shipping and transaction preferences: your saved delivery locations, preferred pickup or drop-off points, payout preferences and notification settings.

Verification information: where identity verification (KYC) is required for selling or high-value transactions, the identity documents and confirmation details you submit.

Technical data: device information, app version and diagnostic logs used to keep the service running smoothly and securely.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to operate the marketplace: creating and securing your account, publishing and searching listings, processing payments held in escrow, paying vendors after completed orders, coordinating dispatch and delivery, providing support, preventing fraud and false claims, and sending you order and delivery updates.

Where the law allows, we may also use your contact details to send service announcements or, with your consent, occasional marketing messages that you can opt out of at any time.

4. AI features

CLO64 uses artificial intelligence to power features such as visual search and the event-based stylist. Photos and measurements you provide for these features are processed only to deliver the feature you requested, are not used to identify you publicly, and are handled under the same protection standards as the rest of your data.

5. Who we share information with

We share only what is necessary to complete your experience: your delivery address and contact number with the assigned courier or dispatch partner; your order reference and payment amount with our payment providers; and your public profile or shop name with other users of the marketplace.

Identity verification documents are used internally for verification only and are never displayed publicly. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, property and safety of CLO64, its users and the public.

6. We never sell your data

Your personal data and your vendor listings are never sold, rented or traded to third parties for their own marketing or any other independent purpose. Third parties only ever process data on our instructions, to deliver the services described in this policy.

7. How we protect your data

CLO64 is designed with security in mind. Access to personal data is restricted to what each feature genuinely needs, data is transmitted over encrypted connections, payments are held through trusted providers, and vendor listings and buyer information are protected against unauthorised access. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your password confidential and tell us promptly if you notice anything unusual.

8. Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Transaction records, order evidence and audit logs are retained as long as required for accounting, dispute resolution and legal obligations in Tanzania, after which non-essential records are securely deleted.

9. Your rights

You may view and correct your profile details in the app, manage your notification preferences, request a copy of your information, ask us to delete your account, or withdraw marketing consent at any time. Some records must be retained where the law requires it, even after an account is closed.

10. Children

CLO64 is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. The latest version is always available in the app, and significant changes will be communicated to users in advance.
